Whoa...that's the first thing i thought when i saw this picture, that and "god the must have hurt". its a very compelling photo because her nationality couples with the damage to her nose leads us to believe that she was punished for something. the color in the picture comes all from her head covering and that makes it kind of cool because despite how bad she must feel having to look like this, she is still trying to be pretty.  They angle of her head and face compared to the camera highlights they damage to her nose and that's what i feel the photographer wanted us to focus on. the model herself looks kind of uncomfortable to me by the set in her mouth and the guarded look in her eye; like she doesn't what to be there and have people documenting her. but despite her malformation/injury she is very pretty and has to be very strong to hold her head up and face the camera.
